Anina Gerchick MLA ’15 Wins Emerging Professional Grant

Anina Gerchick’s “Reclaim the Rails” project is a winner in the 2016 National Grant Competition for Emerging Professionals in Landscape Architecture sponsored by Anova. Her prize includes funding to participate in the 2016 ASLA Annual Meeting this fall in New Orleans.

In response to the prompt “What change would you make in your region if money were no object?” Gerchick proposes using Georgia’s rail track network to relieve traffic woes, enable intercity travel, and repurpose roads for bikes.

Gerchick, who completed the Master of Landscape Architecture Program in 2015, now divides her time between New York and Athens, Georgia.
