Promising Developments: Chicago South Side Conference

Organized by the City College of New York, Terreform Center for Advanced Urban Research,  and Experimental Station, this day-long conference/conversation featured a host of South Side activists, planners and doers, all working to design a better future for our South Side communities.

CCNY’s Urban Design studio is devoting the spring 2017 semester to an investigation of and a series of designs for the city’s South Side. Their immersive research trip to the city in January was packed with a day-long bus tour to numerous sites on the South Side; this conference of scholars, activists, and planners at the Experimental Station; meetings with community groups such as MAPSCorps and the Co-Prosperity Sphere; and individual visits to project sites.
