Curated by Associate Professor Fabian Llonch\, the series features prominent architects from South America who will discu ss their work and the unique political and environmental challenges they f ace. An introduction will be hosted by Shawn Rickenbacker.\n\n \;\n\n To join the event\, please follow the Zoom link here.\n\n \;\n\nMilton Braga studied at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Univerit y of Sao Paulo (FAUUSP)\, Brazil\, receiving three degrees:  his undergra duate degree in 1986\, his master's in 1999\, and a PhD in 2006. He has be en teaching at the FAUUSP since 2001 and was visiting professor at the Uni versity of Florida in 2008.\n\n \;\n\nBraga is the author of O concurs o de Brasília: sete projetos para uma capital (2010)\, a book on the Bras ilia competition\, which was awarded second place by the 53rd Jabuti Award (the most prestigious prize in Brazilian literature) in the Architecture and Urbanism category in 2011 and won first prize in the book category of the VIII Ibero American Architecture and Urbanism Bienalle in Cadiz\, 2012 .\n\n \;\n\nMilton is a founding partner of MMBB Arquitetos. Since its inception in 1991\, MMBB has grown in notoriety\, earning well-deserved r ecognition through numerous awards and exhibitions. It received first priz e in the national competition for the Brazilian Pavilion in the coming 202 0 Dubai Expo. Its Jardim Edite Social Housing Complex won awards in 2014 a t the IX Biennial Iberoamericana de Arquitetctura y Urbanism in Rosario\, Argentina.
