 ndscape Architecture Program\, Associate Professor\n\nWalter is the Creati
 ve Director and Founder of Hood Design Studio in Oakland\, California. Hoo
 d Design Studio is his tripartite practice\, working across art + fabricat
 ion\, design + landscape\, and research + urbanism. He is also a professo
 r of landscape architecture at the University of California\, Berkeley and
  lectures on professional and theoretical projects nationally and internat
 ionally. \n\nWalter designs and creates urban spaces and objects that are
  public sculpture. Believing everyone needs beauty in their life\, he make
 s use of everyday objects to create new apertures through which to see th
 e surrounding emergent beauty\, strangeness\, and idiosyncrasies of urban 
 space. His ideas emerge from years of studying and practicing architecture
 \, landscape architecture\, and fine arts\, and yet Walter tactfully esch
 ews from differentiating between the three on any one project. \n\nThe S
 tudio’s award winning work has been featured in publications including
  Dwell\, The Wall Street Journal\, The New York Times\, Fast Company\, Arc
 hitectural Digest\, Places Journal\, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. 
 Walter Hood is also a recipient of the 2017 Academy of Arts and Letters Ar
 chitecture Award.\n\n \n\nSelected Bibliography\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAll lecture
 s are free\, open to the public\, and held at 5:30 pm in the Bernard and A
 nne Spitzer School of Architecture Sciame Auditorium. Continuing Education
