JMBC LAUNCHES LEGACY CITY DESIGN INITIATIVE!!

Design is a critical variable in urban life and is often excluded in the development of urban policy as it negotiates the space between physical reality and vision of what is possible. As Legacy Cities re-examine their futures, incorporating design strategies and processes into earlier stages of policy development will lead to better outcomes than treating design as a result of policy. The J. Max Bond Center has partnered with The American Assembly on the Legacy City Design Initiative focused on researching and cataloguing design strategies and interventions that will regenerate these cities who chronically struggle with population loss and excessive land vacancy.

As part of this initiative, The J. Max Bond Center co‚Äźhosted the 2013 Bruner Loeb Forum which focused on Legacy City Design bringing together over 100 participants from 12 different Legacy Cities to share current design projects and generate new design ideas for Legacy Cities.
