DMUxCCNY Identity, Justice, Pedagogy: A Learn-In

This is a workshop to create a space and discursive culture to discuss issues of intersectional identity, racial justice, and pedagogy in the context of the built-environment disciplines. The goal is to co-generate student- and faculty-led models for transforming design pedagogy and studio culture. It will be held across the entire Advanced Studio cohort and open to all students/studios at Spitzer.

The event will be hosted and led by members of Dark Matter University, a BIPOC-led network of built-environment academics and professionls seeking the anti-racist transformation of the disciplines and professions. The event is part of a series of teach-ins happening in 2021-22, beginning with “Talking Race” event in Spring of 2021 at the Center for Architecture NY.
