Master of Sustainability in the Urban Environment
To meet the sustainability challenges of the 21st century, CCNY offers the new graduate program Sustainability in the Urban Environment leading to the degree of Master of Science in Sustainability. This innovative, interdisciplinary program is offered jointly by the Spitzer School of Architecture, the Grove School of Engineering, the City College Science Division, and the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership (formerly the City College Division of Social Sciences). It draws upon emerging approaches in the disciplines of architecture, engineering, science, and social sciences. It aims to prepare students to devise new generations of buildings, urban infrastructure, and open spaces while considering rapid urbanization, climate change, resource limitations, and potential environmental degradation. Professor Hillary Brown directs this program.
