The Chair’s office at Spitzer is pleased to invite all students, faculty, and staff to the next Architecture Department Lunchtime Lecture. The lecture will feature Adjunct Instructor Dexter Ciprian. This event will be co-sponsored by the Black @ SSA student club. Please join us in rm. 107.

About the speaker:

Dexter Ciprian is a Dominican-American visual artist, designer, and educator living and working in The Bronx, NY. His work, exploring lore, migration, and diaspora, has been exhibited nationally. Most recently he was a 2022 Artist in Residence at The Bronx Museum culminating in a multimedia solo exhibition titled Medicina de Amor. His work has appeared or been reviewed in Hyperallergic, The New York Times, and ArtNet Magazine, and published in Architecture Inserted. He is an adjunct lecturer at the Spitzer School of Architecture and a designer and editor at OPEN DOORS, an arts and justice initiative investing in the creativity and leadership of Black and brown people who use wheelchairs and inspires action for safer, more just communities. He holds an M.Arch from the Yale School of Architecture (2009), and a B.S. from the University at Buffalo (2006).​
