Spitzer School Helps Endow J. Max Bond Fund at CFA

The Spitzer School has helped to endow the new J. Max Bond Jr. Fund at the Center for Architecture. The founding organizations will collaborate to develop programming in honor of the school’s late dean, Max Bond, and addressesing issues related to equity, underrepresented communities in design, and global cultures — particularly those of Africa and the African diaspora.
The fund was launched at the 11th annual J. Max Bond, Jr. Lecture on October 14, “The Man, the Legacy.” Panelists including Spitzer’s Shawn L. Rickenbacker, associate professor and director of City College’s J. Max Bond Center for Urban Futures, focused on Max Bond’s legacy by exploring how his passion for design excellence, community inclusion in the design process, and advocacy shaped his career path.
