Spitzer Sponsors LABash Landscape Architecture Conference

The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture will be a featured sponsor at the annual gathering of landscape architecture students, LABash. This year, we will be providing goodie bag items for all attendees in the form of the latest issue of the PLOT journal, and a new publication called Unbuilding. LABash will be taking place from March 31 to April 2 at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. We, at Spitzer, know this year’s conference will be the best one yet, and we hope those in attendance enjoy the CCNY student publications in their goodie bags.

About LA Bash:

Since 1970, LABash Conference is a student-led conference for landscape architecture. Held in North America by a different landscape architecture program each year, the conference brings hundreds of students and professionals together to learn, network, and help shape the future of the profession. LABash Conference Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This Year’s Theme: ROARING RIVER

Millions of water droplets come together in small waterways and mighty rivers to shape our landscape and direct cultural livelihoods. As a “Roaring River” desires to overtop its banks and flood the area with nutrients for growth and nourishment, similarly this conference is a call to flood the field of landscape architecture with our ideas for a future of environmental and social equity.

Our generation’s outcry has the potential to shape the way that our profession influences policies and creates more equitable, healthy, and sustainable spaces. By empowering new and unheard voices, we can be the droplets that join to form something larger, invoking real change through the tools we wield as landscape architects and through innovative collaboration with our allied professions.
