M Arch Students Compete in Rooftop Design Challenge

In spring 2015, Spitzer School of Architecture M Arch I first-year students competed in a competition to design a rooftop space for the CUNY Research Foundation. Given a budget of half a million dollars including materials, labor, and permits, five teams developed proposals and presented their concepts to a group of judges at the school, with winning teams winning prize money.

Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Architecture Program Bradley Horn helped manage the design process working with RFCUNY President Richard Rothbard. Students researched zoning, code, and material types and designed several iterations before finalizing and presenting five concepts.
