SSA Students Take Second Place In Zahn Social Impact Prize

SSA BArch students Jennifer Bustamante and Juan Peralta, along with CCNY student Wes Oler studying Information Systems, won second place in the Zahn Social Impact Prize at the 2018 Zahn Innovation Center’s Final Pitch Night. Their team, Listen!, was awarded $5,000 to continue developing an e-learning tool that uses gamification to teach basic vocabulary and language to refugee children, a project begun in Prof. Suzan Wines Social Impact Startup Studio at the SSA in the fall of 2017. This summer, the Listen! team will join nine other promising startups in the Zahn Center’s intensive ten-week Accelerator, receiving a $10,000 stipend and mentorship from BNY Mellon, Wilkie Farr Gallagher, and Google.
