SSA Alumna on What International Women’s Day Means to Her

Spitzer alumna Sabiha Haque (MLA ’17), founding member of FACE, Foundation for Architecture, Community, and Equity in Bangladesh, talks about what International Women’s Day means to her.

Haque discusses the significance of fighting for the human rights and equality, intersectional feminism, and the environmental crisis in this world of Anthropocene, which is affecting everyone, especially women and children. She also underlines how her education grounded her in sustainable design approaches, which heavily influence her work now and led to her focus on helping environmentally displaced migrants.

Under Haque’s leadership, FACE built the first of 100 houses last month.
