Celebrating B Arch Students at the Hunts Point/Longwood Development CCNY Studio Award Ceremony
Let’s celebrate the incredible achievements of our B Arch students during the Spring 2024 semester! Through a fruitful collaboration with the office of the Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, NYCEDC, and Bronx AIA, Hunt’s Point/Longwood has been reimagined. Michael Goldblum, representing the Bronx Chapter AIA, has completed the second annual Bronx design studio, working with Dean Marta Gutman, Professor Fabian Llonch, and our B Arch students.
In the Spring 2024 semester, B Arch students collaborated with the Bronx Borough President, NYEDC, and the Bronx AIA to envision a better Bronx. This year’s site focused on multifamily housing, with each project weaving a community amenity into the fabric of the income-supported apartment building. Students proposed designs that addressed food insecurity, environmental pollution, and access to healthcare, issues that residents struggle with daily, in their creative solutions to this site. From envisioning a better Bronx to showcasing their creativity in urban redevelopment, their hard work culminated in a showcase and award ceremony at Bronx Borough Hall.
