Nusrat Sharmin, an Urban Design master’s student, is the recipient of a significant Career Development Grant from the American Association University of Women.

Sharmin, who will graduate in spring 2021, is studying sustainable urbanism. Her work focuses on developing a framework that promotes societal well-being as well as environmental preservation. She completed her undergraduate studies in architecture in Bangladesh.

AAUW’s mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy. The Career Development Grant is provides funding for women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce, with primary consideration to women of color pursing credentials in nontraditional fields.
