Architectural League Mentorship Program 2023-2024

The League Mentorship is organized by The Architectural League in partnership with architecture programs at City College, New York City College of Technology, and Kean University. The program is made possible by architect mentors who make a commitment to meet with a participating architecture student to share professional experiences and advice as well as to offer guidance as students prepare for a career in architecture.

The program matches architecture students with design professionals for nine months of one-on-one guidance, relationship building, and mutual learning. During this time, students meet regularly with their mentors, receiving guidance as they prepare for careers in architecture and design. To facilitate these connections, the League organizes a number of group events for both students and mentors, including studio tours, panel discussions, and networking events.

Mentee Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Students must commit to the full duration of the program: September 2023 through May 2024.
  • Students must meet with their mentors at least twice per semester and attend the three mandatory group events.
  • Students must be respectful of their mentors’ time, not missing scheduled meetings without notice, and responding to emails in a timely manner.
  • Students must take initiative with scheduling meetings and bringing topics of conversation.
