Llonch Work at the Venice Biennale

Work by Associate Professor Fabian Llonch is currently featured at the Argentina Pavilion  at the 2018 Venice Biennale and can be viewed through September 29. This year’s exhibition, Freespace, features, “work that exemplifies essential qualities of architecture which include the modulation, richness and materiality of surface; the orchestration and sequencing of movement, revealing the embodied power and beauty of architecture.”  The Argentina Pavilion, titled Vértigo Horizontal, displays projects completed since the country’s return to democracy in 1983 in the themes of openness, collectivity, and generosity.

The project, Rafaela New Cultural Center by Airaudo + Caballero + Giménez Rita + Llonch is the renovation of the old market in Rafaela, Argentina. This landmark building was restored and rebuilt as a multi-use municipal center, adding a convention center, hotel and office space in addition to education, recreation, exhibition and performance spaces.

Arch Daily has more about the project.
