The FiDi Arsenale opens Friday, February 28, in a 6,000-square-foot abandoned Irish pub just blocks from the World Trade Center. Presented by the curatorial projects Hot Air and Mery Gates, and curated by adjunct assistant professor Bika Rebek, the exhibition features 16 emerging artists and architects. The show highlights work that explores or develops clever strategies in response to the austerity of late capitalism: utilizing the runoff of commercial production to subsidize and assemble sculptures and installations, as well as working in online territories to develop digital platforms and performances that outline speculative social spaces or question existing ones.
