Student Invited to Van Alen’s Brooklyn Bridge Competition Jury
Fifth-year B Arch student Isabella Joseph was invited as a student juror on the Reimagining Brooklyn Bridge competition. She will join an interdisciplinary jury that includes leadership from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, SOM, and Transportation Alternatives.
The New York City Council and Van Alen Institute are collaborating on this international design competition to rethink the iconic Brooklyn Bridge walkway and spark a new public conversation about New York City’s infrastructure. Reimagining Brooklyn Bridge seeks creative, unconventional designs that respect and enhance the bridge’s landmark status, think inclusively about mobility and access, and accommodate commuters, visitors, and vendors. The competition is open to all, and proposals must be submitted by Sunday, April 5.
