In the spring of 2021, the Western Queens Community Land Trust (WQCLT) engaged Bagchee Architects to generate a proposal to convert a city-owned storage facility in Long Island City into affordable work and production space. In an interview recently published on Urban Omnibus, Professor Nandini Bagchee joins WQCLT co-founder Memo Salazar to discuss their work on the community land trust and the challenges of designing a city-owned building through collective envisioning.
