Prof. Melendez and Students’ Project “Symbiont Substrate” Featured in The Architect’s Newspaper
The project “Symbiont Substrate” by Associate Professor Frank Melendez and selected students was exhibited at “rE-ordering architecture: making machine and material kin,” a show of digitally fabricated, 3D-printed clay columns, and recently profiled in The Architect’s Newspaper.
Each column in the exhibition presented a new “order”– a seed or fragment of a future entwinement between architecture and environment. The exhibition was on view in May 2023 at UsagiNY and was part of the 2023 NYCxDesign festival.
