Visualizing Food Networks and Making a Case for Urban & Local Agriculture

Taka Sarui is a co-founding principal of XLXS Design, principle of MiYuKu LLC, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Parsons New School and has been a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture. She is deeply committed to humanitarian design and has participated in Global Studio, initiated by the UN Millennium Project Task Force, and spent time mapping the refugee experience along the Thailand-Burma border. Taka Sarui founded XLXS Design with Julia M. Gallagher, with the shared goal of addressing contemporary issues in architecture with the contrasting lenses of the human scale (XS) and the network scale (XL). Their work explores alternative ways of understanding sustainability, urbanity, and community.

All lectures are free and open to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Roofpod lecture series organized by Professors Ahu Aydogan Akseli and Christian Volkmann.
